This imagery and sound portray how guilt can consume an individual. The drops of paint represent guilty thoughts and the glass of water represents the soul. At first the soul is pure, like the water, but once an unforgivable act is executed, the first drop of guilt muddles it. The gradual progression of guilty thoughts (the drops) show that even though one guilty thought can dissipate, it can also bring on more guilty thoughts that consume the soul entirely.
